In June 2023, Ziking won the North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Compression Complexes Project COMP2 in Qatar. The owner of this project is Qatargas and the general contractor is Saipem, a world-famous engineering company. Products of this order are used for two natural gas compression facilities in the North Field located off the northeast coast of the Qatar peninsula. After the project is completed, the production capacity of the gas field will increase from 70 million tons to 110 million tons per year.

Ziking has taken on over 37,000 tons of production of this project, including the bracing structure and main legs for the platform and interconnecting bridges. Due to its unique design, the product specifications, materials, and production process requirements are highly complicated. The product list has been adjusted a couple of times during the bidding period. Moreover, within two and a half months, we needed to finish compiling a full set of procedure documents, drawings and 45 PWPSs, selecting welding consumables, processing and welding the test plates for PWPS, and inspecting and testing the test pieces. In terms of fabrication schedule, all steel pipes should be delivered between September 16, 2023, and April 8, 2024, according to the batch delivery plan. Among these, 652 pipe joining and 820 profiling work should be delivered before December 5, 2023. The schedule is tight and the task is heavy. 

Ziking attaches great importance to this project. After it officially launched, we built a Qatar NFPS project team, with Vice President Ye Fei as the project manager, and formed multiple groups, with experienced core staff as members, according to the manufacturing arrangement of different plants to ensure the all steps go smoothly.

The Qatar NFPS project is the largest overseas offshore pipe pile order since the company established its development strategy of "based on offshore engineering and focusing on offshore wind power".
